Q&A
The questions we hear most.
Straight answers on fees, conflicts, confidentiality and how an engagement actually runs.
Ask something elseWhat happens in the first conversation?
You talk, we listen. We map what you are facing, who is involved and what a good outcome looks like — then tell you plainly whether we are the right firm for it. No fee, no obligation.
How are fees structured?
Three ways: a monthly advisory retainer, a scoped fixed fee agreed before work begins, or crisis response activated around the clock. Every invoice is itemized and scope changes are agreed in writing first.
How do you handle conflicts of interest?
Every prospective matter runs through a conflicts check across all three offices before we say yes. If we cannot act for you, we say so immediately and, where we can, point you to someone who can.
How long does a typical engagement run?
A filing can close in weeks; a policy campaign can span years. What stays constant is the milestone plan you receive up front — you always know the next step and why it matters.
Which sectors do you work with?
Civil society organizations, regulated businesses, professional bodies and public institutions. If your matter touches policy, regulation or public accountability, it is likely inside our practice.
Is what we discuss confidential?
Always. Privilege applies from the first conversation, whether or not you engage the firm.
