Our story
From one pot to sixty fridges
Surge was never planned, it kept selling out. The pot emptied, so there were bottles. The bottles emptied, so there was a canning line. Five dates tell it straight.
2019
One pot at Osu Night Market
Two friends, one pot of sobolo and a folding table at the Friday market. The first night sold out by nine, the second by eight, and the recipe from that pot is still the recipe in the can.
2020
The first hundred bottles
Flip-top bottles filled in a rented kitchen and labelled by hand at the table, every one numbered in marker. They sold through WhatsApp in a weekend, mostly to people from the market queue.
2022
The canning line on Otublohum Road
Plot 14 in the North Industrial Area, a second-hand canning line and a month of teaching it manners. The first run was Sobolo: zero added sugar, 45 mg of guarana, and a can that finally survived a delivery bag.
2024
Sixty fridges across Accra and Tema
From one stall to sixty fridges, Osu to Tema Harbour, every one restocked on a weekly route. The rule from the market still holds: if it is not cold, it does not sell.
2026
Passion Fruit joins the line
The sixth flavour, argued over for a year and pressed from fruit grown on the Aburi ridge. Six cans stand in the fridge now, and the stall at Osu Night Market still opens on Fridays.

From the journal
Mix it up
What the six cans turn into when a jug, some ice and twenty minutes get involved.
All the mixes

Garden Cooler
Lime over cucumber ribbons and torn mint. The one for the hottest week of March.

The Deep End
Passion Fruit blended with dark berries and a squeeze of lime. Louder than it looks.

Mango Spritz
Mango cut with soda and a dash of bitters, oranged at the rim. Sunday, four o'clock.
