Three years on the harbour wall

Three editions

One generator to six stages

2024 was one night and four hundred people. This is how it got from there to here, in the order it happened.

2024

One night, one generator, four hundred people

A borrowed rig on the customs shed roof and a bill of eleven acts who all knew each other. It rained for twenty minutes and nobody left.

2025

Two days, the wall opens

The harbour authority let us onto the sea defence for the first time. Two stages, the first drum line, and the year the sound problem got solved.

2026

Three days, six stages, the third edition

Forty-eight artists, thirty workshops, an exhibition programme and the late sessions in the fish market. The first year the whole thing is ticketed.

What went wrong

Two things we got badly wrong

A history page with nothing in this section is a brochure. These are the two that cost people their evening.

2024

The sea took the top end and gave back a slap

The first year's main stage faced the water and the far wall returned everything about forty milliseconds late. It sounded like a delay pedal nobody had asked for. The rig now faces along the wall rather than across it.

2025

One gate for four thousand people

The Saturday queue reached the lighthouse and stayed there for an hour. There are three gates in 2026, and wristbands go out by post to anybody who books before October.
