Founded 2016 in East Legon

Ten years of turning up on a Tuesday

We started in 2016 with two people and eleven flats off Boundary Road. The flats are still on the books and so is the Tuesday. Here is everything that happened in between.

// Our story

Ten years, told honestly

Every line below is a thing that happened rather than a milestone we invented afterwards, and every one carries the number of people on the payroll at the end of that year.

2016

Two people and a borrowed car

Ama Serwaa and her cousin Doris took on eleven flats off Boundary Road, cleaning four of them a day and carrying the machines between addresses on foot.

2 on the payroll

2017

The decision that shaped everything

Rather than take on casual labour for a busy December, we put four people on contracts with paid leave. It cost more than the December was worth and it is the reason there is a company at all.

6 on the payroll

2018

An office, and the first commercial account

A one-room office on Boundary Road with somewhere to keep the machines, and The Labadi Guest House — fourteen rooms a day, and still with us.

9 on the payroll

2019

The fortnight of training

Nobody goes to a customer's address alone until they have done two weeks with us. Colour-coded cloths, the order of a room, and what to say when something breaks.

14 on the payroll

2020

The year nobody wanted anybody in the house

Domestic work stopped in a fortnight. We kept every contract by moving the whole team onto clinics, pharmacies and empty offices, and did not lay off a single person.

14 on the payroll

2021

Everything switched to plant-based

We stopped buying chlorine bleach and fragranced sprays outright. It took a year to find products that actually worked and cost about a fifth more; nobody has asked us to switch back.

19 on the payroll

2022

Machines instead of muscle

A floor scrubber, two extraction units and a pole-fed window system. Deep cleans stopped being a two-day job and started being a one-day one, at the same price.

23 on the payroll

2023

The same team, every visit

We rebuilt the rota around addresses rather than around availability. It made the week harder to plan and it is the single change customers mention most.

27 on the payroll

2024

Across the motorway to Tema

A second van and a small store in Tema, so the east of the city stopped being a forty-minute drive with a boot full of buckets.

29 on the payroll

2025

The training became somebody's job

Efua stepped off the tools to run training and the four supervisors full time. It is the first role here that does not clean, and the standard has been steadier since.

30 on the payroll

2026

Thirty-one people, one standard

Four thousand two hundred cleans in, still answering the phone in the same office, and still sending the same two faces to the flats off Boundary Road every Tuesday.

31 on the payroll

Two of the team working through a kitchen on the morning round

// Unchanged

Three things that have not moved

The Tuesday round

The eleven flats we started with are still on the books, still on a Tuesday, and two of the original households are still there.

Everybody employed

Not one hour of work at a customer's address has ever been done by somebody who was not on our payroll.

A person on the phone

The office number has not changed since 2018 and it has never once gone to a menu.

// Our clients

Hear from our happy customers

I have used four cleaning firms in East Legon and this is the first one where the same two people turn up every week. They know where things go now. I stopped tidying before they come, which was the whole point.

Esther Owusu

Homeowner, East Legon

Our office has never looked better. They come in at six, they are gone by eight, and I have never once had to ring about something being missed. The monthly report is a nice touch nobody else bothers with.

Kwame Boateng

Office manager, Airport City

They did the deep clean after our renovation and I genuinely could not believe it was the same flat. Cement dust in every corner one day, spotless the next. Worth every cedi and then some.
