Questions
The eight we are asked most, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.
Everything
Eight questions, answered properly
How far ahead should we book?
Six months for a Saturday between November and February, which is Ghana's wedding season and the four months we fill first. Six weeks is usually enough for a weekday corporate night.
Can we have fewer than eleven players?
Yes. The house band is eleven, but a trio, a five-piece and a seven-piece are all part of the same book. We will tell you honestly which one your room can take before you pay for the larger one.
Will you learn a song that isn't in your book?
Two, at no charge, if we have them four weeks before the night. A first dance and a father-daughter dance are the usual pair. Anything beyond that is charged as rehearsal time.
Do we need to hire sound separately?
No, and we would rather you did not. Our PA, monitors, desk and engineer come with the band. If your venue insists on its own house system, we will still send Nii to run it.
Do you travel outside Accra?
Regularly — Kumasi, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Ho, and Aburi more often than you would think. Travel, transport and crew accommodation are quoted as a single line rather than added afterwards.
How does payment work?
Half on signing to hold the date, the balance seven days before. In cedis, by bank transfer or mobile money, against a proper invoice. We do not take payment on the night.
What happens if the power goes?
We bring a generator to every outdoor booking and to any indoor venue without a tested changeover. It is in the quote, not a surprise on the invoice.
Can the night run longer than planned?
Usually. Ask the bandleader rather than the DJ, decide before midnight rather than after, and expect an extra-hour rate that we will have told you in advance.
If the answer you need is not here, ring the office rather than emailing. Somebody picks up between nine and six, and it is usually faster than both of us typing.
Tell us about the night
The date, the room and roughly how many people. We will come back with what we would put in it and what it costs — in cedis, on one page.
