2014
A borrowed camera in Osu
My cousin's engagement, my aunt's camera, and an afternoon in a compound photographing four women arguing pleasantly about a list. I never gave the camera back and she has never asked for it.
2017
The first wedding for money
In Tema, for GH₵ 600, for a couple who had seen exactly eleven photographs of mine. I over-lit the reception and cut the top off the cake. They still send a card at Christmas.
2019
Engagements became half the work
A season of couples asking me to photograph the traditional rite as well, and the realisation that it is the harder day and the better one. I stopped treating it as a warm-up and started pricing it as its own thing.
2021
The room in East Legon
A print table, a wall of albums and somewhere to meet couples that is not a coffee shop. It is by appointment because it is one room, and it is the best decision the studio has made.
2023
A second photographer, permanently
Kwabena had been assisting for two seasons. Making him the second shooter on every wedding-day booking is the difference between having your walk down the aisle and having your partner's face while you do it.

Three hundred weddings, and an archive
Every file since 2017 now lives on two drives and one off-site copy, held for ten years. A couple wrote last March having lost everything to a dead laptop; it took eleven minutes to send it all back.

Two drives at the studio and one copy off-site, checked every quarter. It is not a service anybody asks about at the first meeting and it is the one couples write to me about years later, usually in a panic, usually about a laptop.
