FAQs
You've got questions, we've got answers
What does a typical camp day consist of?
Up at six thirty, breakfast at seven, and two coached sessions before the heat of the day. Lunch and a quiet hour, then a third session, free swim, and an evening activity — quiz night, the talent show, or the inter-cabin final. Lights out at nine for the Rookies and half past nine for everyone else.
What should my child bring to camp?
Training kit for five days, boots and trainers, a swimming costume and goggles, a towel, a water bottle, a torch, sun cream and a hat. We send the full list with your confirmation. Leave phones, tablets and anything valuable at home — there is a camp phone for calling home on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Where do I submit my child's medical forms?
Online, when you book — the form is part of the registration and takes about five minutes. If anything changes before the session starts, email the camp nurse directly and she will update the record before your child arrives.
What safety measures are in place?
A registered nurse lives on site for the whole session. Every coach holds a current first-aid certificate and is police-vetted before their first camp. Ratios are 1:6 for Rookies and 1:8 above that, the pool is never open without two qualified lifeguards, and the site is fenced and gated with staff on the gate day and night.
What happens in case of bad weather?
We move indoors. The sports hall takes basketball, indoor football and the workshops, and a wet afternoon usually turns into the camp's favourite one — the storm quiz is a tradition at this point. Sessions are never simply cancelled.
Can I register my child for just one week or specific days?
Rookie Camp is a single week and can be booked on its own. All Pro and Varsity run as full fortnights because the tournament and the clinics build week on week, but we do offer a day-camp option from Akosombo and Atimpoku for families living close enough to travel.

How does the coach transfer from Accra work?
Two coaches leave from the East Legon office on the Sunday, at eleven and at two, and return at the same times on the last day. Staff travel with them. It is included in the fee, and you tell us which one you want when you book — no charge for changing it up to the Friday before.
My child cannot swim. Is that a problem?
Not at all, and it is more common than you would think. Everybody takes the same water-confidence session on day one whatever they tell us they can do, and non-swimmers are grouped from there. Plenty of campers learn here — several of them in Rookie week.
Can you cater for allergies and dietary needs?
Yes. Put them on the booking form and the kitchen works from that list rather than from memory. If it is a serious allergy, ring us as well and the camp nurse will speak to you directly before the session.
Can my child bring a phone?
No, and it is the single change that does most for how quickly a homesick camper settles. There is a camp phone for calling home on Wednesdays and Sundays, and the office is reachable at any hour if you need us.
Will we see photographs during the session?
A gallery goes up every evening for the families of that session only, behind a link we send you on the first day. You can opt your child out of photographs entirely on the booking form and nobody will ask you why.
My child is between camps by age. Which one?
Ring us. A nine-year-old who has been before is usually happier in All Pro; a ten-year-old who has never been away from home is usually happier in Rookie. We would rather have that conversation than have you guess.
Still wondering about something?
The office is open on weekdays through the year and every day in July and August. Ring, message on WhatsApp, or come and walk the site on an open afternoon.
