Careful work on the homes of Accra
We renovate, repair and finish houses across Greater Accra — kitchens, bathrooms, whole houses. One supervisor, one written price, and a site you would not mind your mother walking through.

About us
The people who will actually be in your house
Abode is fourteen tradespeople and two supervisors. We do not subcontract the work out and disappear — the carpenter who hangs your doors is on our payroll, and the person who quoted the job is on site the week it starts.
Most of what we do is renovation rather than new build: taking a house that works badly and making it work. That means living with the mess for a few weeks, so we plan around your kitchen, your water and your sleep before we plan around our programme.

How we work
Step by step, and nothing hidden
We come and look first
A survey before a price, always, and it costs nothing. An hour in the house tells us more than a week of photographs, and it is the only way to quote a number we can hold to.
One price, in writing
Materials, labour, rubbish and making good, itemised on one page. If something behind a wall changes the job we stop and tell you before we spend your money, not after.
We clean up and hand back
We walk the house with you, write the snags on a list, and come back until the list is empty. Then the guarantee starts — two years on our workmanship, in writing.
Why us
Why people ring us back
Nobody enjoys having builders in the house. What people tell us afterwards is that the difference was knowing who was coming, what it would cost and when it would end — so those are the three things we fixed first.
A named supervisor on site every working day
Fixed prices, written down before anybody starts
Two years' guarantee on our own workmanship
The house swept and the skip gone before we leave

Before and after
From a house you put up with to one you like
This is a three-bedroom in Adenta that had not been touched since it was built. Same footprint, same budget as a new kitchen and a car — new floor, new lighting, one wall taken out and the veranda brought inside.

What people say
Trusted by people who live here
They took the kitchen out on a Monday and we were cooking in it three weeks later, on the day they said. The price at the end was the price on the first page.

Akosua Mensimah
East Legon
We had two builders quote before them and both were cheaper. Both also wanted half the money up front. Abode took a third, showed us the schedule, and never asked for more.

Kojo Anane
Cantonments
I let four flats and I have used them on all of them. What I pay for is not the tiling — it is that I get one call a week and I never have to go and stand there myself.

Mansa Owusu
Airport Residential
The old bathroom leaked into the room below every rainy season for six years. They stripped it to the block, tanked it and re-tiled. Two rainy seasons now, nothing.

Eric Tetteh
Tema Community 25
We lived in the house the whole time with a two-year-old. Every evening the site was swept and the doors were on. That sounds small until you have had builders who did neither.

Serwaa Boateng
Adenta
The rewire found things in that house that frightened me. They stopped, called me, showed me, and gave me a price to fix it before touching anything. That is all I wanted.

Craftsmanship
Work that holds up through the rains
Anything looks good the week it is finished. What separates a good job from a cheap one is what it looks like after two rainy seasons and a harmattan — so that is the standard we quote against.
Materials chosen for this climate
Marine ply in wet areas, hardwood where a softwood would move, and paint rated for the humidity rather than the price list.
Finished where nobody looks
Behind the cistern, under the sink, the back edge of a wardrobe. The places that decide whether a job lasts are the places nobody inspects.

The things people ring to ask
If your question is not here, ring the office. Nobody will try to book you a survey before answering it.
Read every questionHow long does a renovation take?
A bathroom is two to three weeks, a kitchen three to four, a whole house ten to sixteen depending on how much of the shell we are touching. You get a week-by-week programme with the quote, and we tell you on a Friday if the following week has changed.
Will the price change once you start?
Only if we find something behind a wall that nobody could have seen — and then we stop, show you, and price it before we go on. Everything on the original page is fixed. In four years the average job has finished within three per cent of its quote.
Can we stay in the house while you work?
For a single room, yes, easily. For a kitchen you will want somewhere else to cook for about a fortnight. For a whole house most people move out for the first month and come back for the finishing. We will tell you honestly which one your job is.
Do you handle permits and the assembly?
Yes, where a permit is needed — structural changes, extensions, anything touching the outside of the building. We prepare the drawings, lodge them and follow them up. Internal work that does not move a structural wall usually needs nothing.
