Six things we do, and do properly

We would rather do six things well than list twenty. If what you need is not here we will tell you who does it, and we will not take the job just to keep the van busy.

01

Kitchen renovation and fitting

Strip out, re-plumb, rewire, tile and fit. We build to the units you have chosen rather than the ones we sell.

02

Bathroom refits and plumbing

New suites, wet rooms, pressure problems and the leaks that come back every rainy season.

03

Whole-house renovation

One programme, one supervisor, one price — from the first strip-out to the last coat of paint.

04

Repairs, painting and finishing

The small list that has been on the fridge for two years. Half a day, one visit, done.

05

Rewiring, lighting and back-up

Full rewires, consumer units, and inverters sized to what you actually run when the light goes.

06

Carpentry, wardrobes and doors

Built in our own workshop in Adenta, in odum or ply, and fitted by the people who made it.

In detail

What each of these actually involves

Kitchen renovation and fitting

from GH₵ 38,000

A kitchen is the job that decides whether a renovation was worth it, and it is the one most likely to run over. We survey the run, agree the layout on paper, and order everything before a single cupboard comes out — so the week your kitchen is unusable is one week, not five.

Bathroom refits and plumbing

from GH₵ 22,000

Most of the bathrooms we are called to were tiled straight onto plaster, and the tanking underneath is either wrong or missing. We take it back to the blockwork, tank it properly and tile onto board. It costs more on the day and it is the reason we can guarantee it.

Whole-house renovation

from GH₵ 180,000

Taking a whole house on means sequencing twenty trades so that nobody undoes anybody else's work. That is a full-time job, and it is why every whole-house job here has a named supervisor who is on site every morning and reachable on a mobile every evening.

Repairs, painting and finishing

GH₵ 850 a day

Doors that stick, sockets hanging off the wall, a ceiling stained by a leak that was fixed years ago. We run a repairs van four days a week for exactly this, charged by the half day rather than by the item, so a list of nine small things costs less than nine call-outs.

Rewiring, lighting and back-up

from GH₵ 26,000

Every rewire is certified and tested, and we hand over a marked-up board schedule rather than a drawer of unlabelled breakers. If you are putting in an inverter we will size it against a fortnight of your own meter readings instead of a guess.

Carpentry, wardrobes and doors

priced per run

Fitted furniture bought flat and assembled on site never quite meets a wall that is not straight, and no wall in an older Accra house is straight. Ours is measured on site, cut in the workshop and scribed in — which is slower, and the reason the doors still shut in year five.

How we work

Step by step, and nothing hidden

We come and look first

A survey before a price, always, and it costs nothing. An hour in the house tells us more than a week of photographs, and it is the only way to quote a number we can hold to.

One price, in writing

Materials, labour, rubbish and making good, itemised on one page. If something behind a wall changes the job we stop and tell you before we spend your money, not after.

We clean up and hand back

We walk the house with you, write the snags on a list, and come back until the list is empty. Then the guarantee starts — two years on our workmanship, in writing.

Craftsmanship

Work that holds up through the rains

Anything looks good the week it is finished. What separates a good job from a cheap one is what it looks like after two rainy seasons and a harmattan — so that is the standard we quote against.

Materials chosen for this climate

Marine ply in wet areas, hardwood where a softwood would move, and paint rated for the humidity rather than the price list.

Finished where nobody looks

Behind the cistern, under the sink, the back edge of a wardrobe. The places that decide whether a job lasts are the places nobody inspects.

Asked often

Three things people ring to ask

How long does a renovation take?

A bathroom is two to three weeks, a kitchen three to four, a whole house ten to sixteen depending on how much of the shell we are touching. You get a week-by-week programme with the quote, and we tell you on a Friday if the following week has changed.

Will the price change once you start?

Only if we find something behind a wall that nobody could have seen — and then we stop, show you, and price it before we go on. Everything on the original page is fixed. In four years the average job has finished within three per cent of its quote.

Can we stay in the house while you work?

For a single room, yes, easily. For a kitchen you will want somewhere else to cook for about a fortnight. For a whole house most people move out for the first month and come back for the finishing. We will tell you honestly which one your job is.
