The atelier
Facet is nine goldsmiths, two showroom teams and one bench in Airport Residential, and most of us arrived as apprentices. Every new jeweller spends a first year paired with a senior, paid from day one, learning casting, setting and finishing on real commissions rather than on scrap.
The courses that matter are on us: we pay for the assaying and hallmarking programmes run through the Precious Minerals Marketing Company, and most Saturdays somebody from the bench is at a market stall in Accra, because selling what you made teaches you what to make next.
