A roofing firm that answers the phone
Gable started in 2004 with one flatbed, two ladders and a yard behind the Spintex Road. Twenty years later there are four crews, a covered store for coil and tile, and the same rule the firm opened with: nobody quotes a roof they have not stood on.
Most of what we do is unglamorous. Valleys that were never flashed properly. Gutters running the wrong way. A ridge that has been leaking into a ceiling void for three seasons while somebody paid to repaint the ceiling twice. We would rather find that in an afternoon than sell you a new roof you did not need.

How we work
Four rules the firm has kept since the first flatbed, and the reason most of our work now comes from somebody who has already used us.
The quote is the price
A variation needs your signature. In twenty years we have issued four, and every one of them was rot nobody could have seen from the ground.
We reuse what still works
Sound battens stay. Good tiles are cleaned and re-laid. A firm that replaces everything every time is a firm that has stopped looking.
The compound stays liveable
One slope open at a time, debris in a skip rather than the garden, and the water back on before we leave for the day.
Everything in writing
Photographs before, photographs after, the make and gauge of every sheet, and both guarantees on paper you can find again in 2038.
The crews
Four crews, twenty-six people
Every fitter here holds a working-at-height certificate and has been with the firm an average of nine years. Two of the four foremen started as apprentices on the yard. Nobody is hired at the gate on a Monday morning, which is why the crew that quotes your roof is the crew that covers it.
We carry employer's liability and public liability through a Ghanaian insurer, and the certificates go out with every quote whether or not anybody asks for them.

Ask us anything What types of client do you work with?
Households, landlords, managing agents, schools and clinics, and four developers we sub-contract sheeting for. About two thirds of what we do in a year is a single house.
Which areas do you cover?
Greater Accra and the Tema corridor as standard, and Kasoa, Nsawam and Aburi for anything over a hundred square metres. Beyond that we will still come out, but the travel is on the quote and you will see it there.
How do you guarantee design quality?
Fifteen years on workmanship and up to thirty on the sheet, both in writing, plus a free inspection at twelve months. If a fixing we made leaks inside that window we come back at our cost.
Can you redesign my existing roof or reuse what is there?
Often, yes. Battens and purlins in good order get reused, and a sound tile is worth keeping. We will tell you which parts are still doing their job rather than quoting to replace all of it.
