Wedding planner

You would carry three or four weddings a year yourself, from the first conversation to the last invoice, with the founder alongside you for the first two. Everything else on this list is teachable; the willingness to ring somebody back when you said you would is not.

The role most of this studio started in. Deliveries, hires, supplier chasing, install and strike, and standing at a gate at six in the morning counting chairs off a truck. It is the fastest way to learn this job that we know of.

What it is like
Before you write to us
Four things about this job that are true and are not on most planning studios' careers pages.
Twelve weekends a year
In season you will work Friday to Sunday and take the Monday and Tuesday back. Out of season the studio is quiet and the hours are ordinary.
Your name on the file
Whoever plans a wedding is named to the couple on day one and stays named. Nobody here hands a client over at six months.
Both sides of the weekend
Every planner here has run traditional rites and a white wedding. If you arrive knowing one, you will learn the other on your second celebration.
The right to say no
Any planner can decline an enquiry, and we will back it. A studio this size cannot afford to spend eighteen months with somebody it does not like.
