Our history

Twelve years, in seven moments

Not a growth story. Most of what follows is a decision to stay a particular size, and the reasons for it.

2014

One van, two clients

Kojo Amankwah leaves an estate groundskeeping job in Aburi, buys a second-hand pickup and a mower, and takes on two gardens in Airport Residential. Both are still on the round twelve years later.

2016

The first round

Enough gardens in one neighbourhood to run a fixed weekly route rather than driving across Accra between jobs. It is the decision the whole firm is built on: a round is what makes the same two gardeners on the same garden possible.

2017

Afia joins, and the diary stops being a notebook

Afia Boateng takes over scheduling. Missed visits go from about one in twenty to about one in three hundred, which is roughly when clients started recommending us to each other.

2019

The yard and the nursery

A leased yard in Spintex with a propagation bench, so planting schemes stop depending on whatever the wholesalers happen to have. Nii Ayitey comes across to run it.

2021

Herbicides out

We stop using residual weedkillers entirely, on every garden. It costs us more in hand-weeding than we expected and we have never once regretted it.

2023

The schools

Two school contracts, and a lesson: two hundred children on a lawn is a different maintenance problem to two adults and a dog. Carpet grass, higher cut, and everything done before the gates open.

2026

Four hundred gardens, four people

Deliberately still four people and two vans. Growing past that means subcontracting, and subcontracting means we can no longer promise you the same two gardeners — which is the only promise on this site that matters.

In his own words

“A garden is a relationship

“I spent nine years on estates where the gardener changed every few months. Nobody knew which shrub had been moved, or why the far corner never took. You cannot keep a garden you are meeting for the first time.”

“So we built the firm around the round rather than around the job. It caps how big we can get. It is also the only reason our gardens look the way they do in year five.”

Trained gardeners

Every gardener on our books has been through a two-season apprenticeship before working unsupervised on your grounds.

Eco-friendly tools

Battery machines, mulched clippings and no residual herbicides — the garden should be safe to walk on the same afternoon.

Support that answers

One number, one person on it, and a reply the same working day. Nobody here has ever said they will look into it.

Transform your garden with experts

Tell us what the garden needs and when you would like us. We will walk it with you, quote in writing, and start on the day we said.
