Knocking in Kwabenya in March, engagement at Peduase Valley Lodge in September, church and lawn the day after. Two hundred and eleven guests, three drummers and one power cut nobody noticed.

A Ga engagement in Osu and an Akan knocking in Kumasi four weeks apart, which meant two lists, two orders of service and a great deal of driving.

Planned entirely from London over fourteen months. They saw the venue for the first time on the Friday, and the only thing they carried out was the cloth.

A shore wedding at Ada Foah in June, which is to say in the rains. The tent went up at ten past four and dinner was seven minutes late.

How big
Forty guests, or six hundred
The largest we have run was six hundred and forty at a family house in Kumasi, over two days. The smallest was fourteen in a garden in Aburi with a cake from the bride's sister. The work is the same shape; only the number of things that can go wrong changes.

Up the hill
Peduase Valley, the Aburi Botanical Gardens, the private lawns off the Mampong road. Cool by five, and the drive up is half the day's pleasure.
In town
Christ the King, Holy Spirit Cathedral, the Accra City Hotel, Alisa, Kempinski and around forty private gardens between Cantonments and East Legon.
On the coast
Ada Foah, Prampram, Kokrobite and the stretch past Elmina. Beautiful, windy, and requiring a generator and a great deal more tenting than anybody expects.
At the family house
Where most knockings and a good number of engagements belong. We tent the compound, floor it, light it and hand it back swept.
