Questions
Ask ANYTHING!
If the answer is not here, the telephone is answered from eleven every day except Monday.
Do you hold tables for walk-ins?
Eight seats at the pit counter are kept back every night and given out from six. Everything else is booked, and Friday and Saturday go about ten days ahead.
How do I book for more than eight?
By telephone, not online. A long table changes how we load the pit that day, so we would rather talk it through than find out at seven o'clock.
Is there anything for someone who does not eat meat?
Yes, and it is cooked on the same fire — pit yam, charred greens, whole roasted squash and corn. Tell us when you book and the kitchen builds a board rather than handing over a side dish.
How long does a table run?
Two hours for a table of four, two and a half above six. We do not turn the pit counter at all — those seats are yours until you leave.
Are children welcome?
Very. There are high chairs, and the kitchen will do a plain grilled plate for anyone who is not ready for the suya rub yet.
Where do we park?
There is a yard behind the building off Cantonments Road with space for about twenty cars, and a guard on it until midnight.
Still Wondering?
Telephone the room rather than emailing — whoever answers is standing about fifteen feet from the pit and can tell you what is on it.

Come hungry. Leave slowly. We keep a table by the pit for whoever books it first.
