Hale
The six people who will look after you
Between them they have trained at Korle Bu, KNUST, 37 Military Hospital and Princess Marie Louise, and they have worked together long enough to argue about your case before you are asked to repeat yourself.
Doctors
The bench
Six physicians, and one of them is yours
You are registered to a single doctor and you see them unless they are away, in which case whoever covers will have read the same file. Continuity is the cheapest thing a practice can offer and the thing patients notice most.
Dr Nii Hale
Medical director · Internal medicine
Founded the practice in 2009 after eleven years at Korle Bu. Runs the chronic-care list and still takes the first appointment of every morning himself.
Dr Efua Mensimah
Family medicine
Trained at KNUST and in Cape Coast. Looks after most of the families on the register, and holds the clinic's Saturday morning list.
Dr Selorm Attipoe
Internal medicine · Diabetes
Ran a diabetes clinic in Ho for six years before joining. Half his week is spent on metabolic care and the other half on general practice.
Dr Abena Osei-Bonsu
Paediatrics
Paediatrics at Princess Marie Louise before this. Runs the childhood immunisation schedule and the under-fives clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Dr Yaw Boateng
Acute and emergency care
Six years in the emergency department at 37 Military Hospital. Carries the after-hours phone one week in three and teaches the clinic's first-aid course.
Dr Naa Dedei Quaye
Women's health
Antenatal care, contraception and menopause. Takes the view that half an hour spent explaining a decision is half an hour saved later.

Registered, all six
Every physician here holds a current licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Ghana. The register is public and the numbers are at reception if you want them.
Still in training
Each doctor takes at least forty hours of continuing education a year, and the clinic closes for a half day each quarter so all of them can do it together.
Indemnified
The practice carries full medical indemnity cover. It is not the sort of thing anybody advertises, and it is the sort of thing worth asking about.

Afia Boateng
Airport Residential, Accra
Dr Hale found the thing three other clinics had missed, and he did it by listening for twenty minutes instead of six. I have not been anywhere else since.
Kwesi Amankwah
Cantonments, Accra
Blood work at nine, results and a plan by half eleven. Nobody made me come back for it.
Naa Adjeley Tetteh
East Legon, Accra
They have looked after all three of my children since the eldest was two. The nurses know their names, which matters more than I expected.
Yaw Osei
Dzorwulu, Accra
My blood pressure has been where it should be for two years now. That is entirely their doing.
Esi Danquah
Labone, Accra
I called at ten at night about my father and a doctor rang me back within the hour. No clinic had ever done that for us before.
Ibrahim Mahama
Roman Ridge, Accra
The fees are on the wall and on the website. I have never once been surprised by a bill here.
Adwoa Serwaa
Abelemkpe, Accra
I was dreading the whole thing and left feeling like somebody was finally on my side. That is not a small thing to manage.
Kofi Nyarko
Airport Hills, Accra
Twelve years of my family's records in one place, and a doctor who has actually read them.
We are hiring a seventh
