How we staff the clinics

On staff, on the rota, and on the same notes as you

Every consultant here is employed by the hospital rather than visiting it. That is more expensive to run and it is the reason the doctor who saw you in March can be the one who reads your results in September.

Registered and revalidated

Every clinician holds a current licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Ghana, checked annually rather than at hiring.

A named clinic, a named day

Consultants keep fixed clinics so that a follow-up can be booked with the same doctor rather than with whoever is free.

A morning handover, every day

The wards, theatre and A&E meet at 07:30. Nothing that happened overnight is discovered from the notes alone.

Work with us

You do not need a referral to see any of them

Book a consultant clinic directly. If it turns out you need a different department, we move you rather than sending you back to the start.

BOOKING

Three steps, and a person at the end of each one

1

Tell us what is wrong

Call 030 274 1200, or send the form on the contact page. Someone answers between 07:00 and 19:00.

2

We match you to a consultant

Not to whoever is free — to the doctor whose clinic your problem actually belongs in.

3

You get a time and a price

Both in writing, before you travel. If we cannot see you this week, we say so.
