Ordering and delivery
How it reaches you, what it costs, and what to do on the morning it does not turn up.
How long does delivery take, and what does it cost?
Inside Accra, anything ordered before noon is with you the next day. The rest of Ghana takes two to three working days by courier. Delivery is free on orders over GH₵ 250 and GH₵ 30 under it, anywhere in the country.
Can I collect the order myself?
Yes, and it costs nothing. Order before noon and it is bagged and waiting the same afternoon at Osu, Labone or Airport West. Bring the order number, or just the phone you ordered on, and give your name at the counter.
What happens if a delivery is late, or something arrives wrong?
Ring 030 274 6610 and we will find the rider while you are still on the phone. If a parcel is more than a day past the date we gave you, the delivery is on us. If a bag turns up split, or ground for the wrong machine, send a photograph to hello@roast.com.gh and we replace it on the next run. There is nothing to post back.
How do I pay, and what does the cedi price include?
Mobile money, card, or cash if you are collecting. The price on the bag is the price you pay: it covers the coffee, the grinding, the valve bag and the tax. Delivery is the only thing ever added to it, and only under GH₵ 250.
The coffee itself
Grind, freshness and what is actually in a bag, from the people who fill them.
Will you grind it for me?
Tell us the machine at checkout and it arrives ready for it. Espresso goes fine, moka pot a little coarser, pour-over medium, cafetière coarse, and cold brew coarsest of all. If you are not sure, describe the machine and we will pick. Whole beans keep far longer, so take those if you own a grinder.
How long does a bag keep?
Sealed, a bag is at its best for four weeks from the roast date stamped on the base, and perfectly good for three months. Once it is open, whole beans hold about two weeks and ground coffee about five days. Keep it in its own bag with the top rolled down, somewhere dark, and never in the fridge.
How much is in a bag, and how many cups is that?
Every bag is 250g. That is roughly sixteen cups on a pour-over, twenty in a cafetière, or about thirty single shots of espresso. The kilo box is the same coffee four times over and works out around GH₵ 20 a bag cheaper.
When do you roast?
Tuesday morning, and it is bagged the same afternoon. Anything ordered from Wednesday onwards comes off that batch. We never sell a coffee more than three weeks past its roast date, and when a roast sells out we wait for the next Tuesday rather than fetching somebody else's.
Subscriptions and wholesale
The standing orders, the office boxes, and what happens on the week you want to stop.
How does a subscription work?
Pick the coffee, the size and how often, and it goes out on the Tuesday roast. You are billed the morning it leaves, never in advance, and it usually lands within two days of that. Change the coffee, the grind or the address any time before the Monday.
Can I pause or cancel it?
Any week you like. We send a message the Friday before each roast, and one reply pauses that delivery. To stop altogether, ring 030 274 6611 or write to us. There is no notice period, no cancellation fee and nothing to sign.
Do you supply offices, restaurants and hotels?
About forty of them across Accra. Wholesale starts at two kilos a month, comes with a grinder on loan, and somebody comes to set it up and show your staff how to use it. Write to trade@roast.com.gh and we will call you back the same day with a price.
Can I send a subscription to somebody else?
Yes. Give us their address and the message you want on the card, and the first box goes out with it written by hand. Three months and six months are the two people usually pick, and we tell you a week before it ends so nobody is caught out.
Still stuck?
Two ways to get a longer answer than a list can hold, and a person on the end of both.
