A practice that is quiet on purpose
Nine people work at Smile and six of them have been here more than four years. That is not an accident, and it is not because of the pay alone.
A list that is not punishing
Eight patients a day for a dentist, not sixteen. It is the whole reason the appointments are forty minutes, and the reason nobody here has left for a bigger group practice.
Equipment that works
Intra-oral scanning, low-dose OPG, a laboratory downstairs and a maintenance contract that is actually honoured. You will not spend a morning arguing with a compressor.
Study leave that is paid
Five days a year and the course fee, for anybody clinical, plus the Friday morning teaching session two of us run at the dental school.
Pay you can plan around
A salary rather than a percentage, reviewed every January, and stated in the advertisement rather than discovered at the third interview.

Dental hygienist
Full time · GHS 4,800–6,200
Four days a week with your own room and your own list, running the recall programme and the twenty-minute technique session every new patient is offered. Dip. Dental Hygiene and MDC registration required.
Dental surgery assistant
Full time · GHS 2,600–3,400
Chairside for two dentists, plus decontamination and stock. We will train the right person from scratch if they are calm with frightened patients and careful about sterilisation.
Reception and scheme claims
Part time · GHS 2,200
Mornings, six days. Answering the phone, keeping the book honest and arguing with the insurers on patients' behalf. Fluent Twi and English; the arguing can be taught.
