The price you are quoted is the price you pay

Every figure below is what a treatment starts at. Nobody at this practice adds to a bill in the chair, and nothing is begun before you have seen the number.

Book an examination

The list

What everything costs, in cedis

These are starting figures. You are quoted a firm price in writing after the examination and before anything is booked, and that quote is what you pay.

Examination and x-rays

40 minutes

Forty minutes, a full look at every surface, x-rays where they are warranted, and a written plan with a figure on it before anything is booked.

From GHS 180

Scale and polish

30 minutes

Half an hour with a hygienist, twice a year. Stain from tea, coffee and tobacco lifted, and your technique corrected while you are here.

From GHS 250

Fillings

30–45 minutes

Tooth-coloured composite, matched and polished. Caught early a filling is half an hour; left alone it becomes a root canal, so please come in.

From GHS 320

Root canal treatment

Two visits

Persistent pain rarely means the tooth is lost. Treating the nerve and settling the inflammation usually saves it, and a saved tooth beats any replacement.

From GHS 1,400

Crowns and bridges

Two visits

Made in our own laboratory downstairs rather than sent abroad, which is why a crown here takes days instead of weeks and why the shade matches.

From GHS 2,200

Dental implants

Three visits

A missing tooth replaced at the root so the bone keeps its shape. Planned on a 3D scan taken here and placed here rather than referred out.

From GHS 9,500

Gum treatment

Two to four visits

Bleeding and receding gums are the commonest reason people lose teeth in Ghana, and the most treatable. Deep cleaning and a plan we work through together.

From GHS 600

Teeth whitening

Two visits

Measured against a shade guide before and after, so what you get is a number you agreed to rather than a surprise in the mirror.

From GHS 1,800

Clear aligners

6–18 months

Straightening for adults who would rather not spend two years in metal. A digital scan, a printed plan, and trays you change at home every fortnight.

From GHS 12,000

Children's dentistry

20 minutes

First visits from age one, in a room where nothing happens without being explained first. The aim is a child who is not frightened of dentists at thirty.

From GHS 120

Oral surgery

45–90 minutes

Wisdom teeth, buried roots and bone grafting, under local anaesthetic in our own theatre with a nurse beside you throughout.

From GHS 900

Emergency care

Same day

Swelling, a knocked-out tooth, or pain you cannot sleep through. Call the practice and we will see you the same day, every day we are open.

From GHS 200

Cover

Schemes we settle with

NHIS

Examinations, extractions and emergency pain relief are covered. Bring the card. Anything the scheme does not cover is quoted to you before it happens rather than after.

Private schemes

Nationwide, Acacia, Glico and Apex are settled here directly, so you pay only the excess. Tell reception when you book and they will check your limit before you are in the chair.

Paying in stages

Anything over GHS 3,000 can be split across the treatment, interest-free, with the balance settled by the last visit. Ask Esi at reception; there is no application and no credit check.

One phone call is usually all it takes. Tell us what is bothering you — or that nothing is, and it has simply been a while — and we will find you a time this week.
