What We Do

Six services, and what each of them actually involves

Every one of these runs from this building, with our own staff and our own equipment. Nothing on this page is referred out to somebody else's clinic without us telling you first.

01

Primary Care

Surgical Services

Comprehensive care focused on your overall well-being, from day-case procedures to planned major surgery on our four theatres.

Two general theatres, one obstetric and one day-case, staffed by consultant surgeons and anaesthetists on a published rota. Pre-assessment happens the week before, not the morning of, so a cancelled list is a rare event rather than a routine one.

02

Health Screening

Diagnostics & Lab Testing

Early detection and routine screening improve health outcomes — most results are back with your doctor the same day.

Haematology, biochemistry, microbiology and histopathology on site, with ultrasound, digital X-ray and CT next door. Ninety-one per cent of routine bloods are reported within four hours of the sample reaching the bench.

03

Preventive Care

Immunisation Services

Immunisation programmes designed for lifelong protection, following the Ghana Health Service schedule from birth onward.

The full childhood schedule, plus yellow fever, typhoid, hepatitis B, rabies and travel vaccines for adults. Walk in on a Tuesday or Thursday morning; the cold chain is monitored continuously and logged.

04

Immediate Attention

Emergency Care

Comprehensive emergency healthcare for children, adults and older people, staffed around the clock, every day of the year.

A six-bay resuscitation area and a twelve-bay majors, with a consultant physically present from 8am to midnight and on call overnight. Median time from arrival to first clinician is eleven minutes.

05

Everyday Medicine

General Medicine

The clinic most people actually need: hypertension, diabetes, malaria, chest complaints and the long conversations in between.

Eight consulting rooms running six days a week, with named-doctor continuity for anyone on a long-term treatment plan. Repeat prescriptions can be collected from the pharmacy without a second appointment.

06

Family Health

Maternal & Child Health

Antenatal care, delivery and the first five years — one team, one set of notes, from the first scan to school age.

Consultant-led obstetrics with midwife-led rooms for low-risk births, a level-two neonatal unit, and a paediatric clinic that keeps the same file from the delivery suite through to primary school.

Referred by your own doctor

Send the letter to referrals@anchor.com.gh and we will book the clinic and write back to your doctor within two working days.

Booking it yourself

Most of our clinics take self-referrals. Call the appointments line or use the form — you do not need a letter for a general clinic, a screen or a scan.

On NHIS or private cover

We are an NHIS-accredited facility and hold agreements with the six largest private schemes. Bring the card; we will tell you what is covered before anything starts.

Patient Stories

What people say after they leave

My mother was admitted at two in the morning and somebody rang me at six to say exactly what had happened and what would happen next. Nobody had ever done that before.

Akua Boadu

Akua Boadu

Osu, Accra

I went in for a scan expecting to lose the whole day. I was out in ninety minutes and the results were with my own doctor before I got home.

Kojo Antwi-Danso

Tema

Dr Sarpong told me what she did not know as clearly as what she did. I have never been so reassured by someone admitting the limits of a test.
