About the firm

A decorating firm built on preparation, not on colour charts

Gloss has been painting homes, offices and facades across Greater Accra since 2011. This is who we are, how the work is run, and what we will not cut.

Since 2011

A firm that started with one man and a borrowed ladder

Kojo Mensah spent twelve years painting other people's contracts before he took the first one of his own — three bedrooms in Dansoman, quoted on the back of a cement bag. What he had noticed in those twelve years was that almost nobody was losing work on the colour. They were losing it on the preparation, and on turning up when they said they would. Fourteen years later the firm runs four crews and mixes its own collection, and those are still the only two things anybody is assessed on.

01

Preparation is most of the job

Filling, sanding, stabilising and sealing take longer than the colour does and they are the whole reason a wall still looks right in year five. We itemise them on the quote so nobody can quietly leave them out of theirs.

02

The same faces, start to finish

You meet the crew at the survey and the same people hand the room back. Nobody is subcontracted out on the second week to a team you have never met and cannot ring.

03

One figure, agreed first

The quote covers preparation, paint, protection and making good. If we find something behind the plaster we stop and talk before it costs you anything — a variation on this firm is a conversation, not an invoice.

Our mission

The paint you choose changes how a room feels, how it wears, and how long it is before somebody has to do it again.

Best, Quality, Better

Best colours — the ambience of a room.

Best paint — coverage that lasts a decade, not a season.

Best budget — one figure, agreed before we start.

Best crew — the same four faces from first coat to handover.
