Everything we do, and roughly what it costs

Six disciplines, four crews, one standard of preparation. Rates below are indicative — the figure on your quote comes from a survey, not from a table.

Interior painting and decorating

Whole houses, single rooms and everything between. Ceilings, walls, skirtings, architraves and doors, in emulsion or eggshell, with the furniture sheeted and the room put back before we leave.

GHS 55 / m²

Exterior and facade work

Rendered walls, block, timber and metalwork. Washing down, treating what has gone green, stabilising chalky render and two coats of a masonry paint chosen for this coast rather than for a catalogue.

GHS 70 / m²

Commercial and fit-out

Offices, clinics, schools and retail, mostly out of hours and in sections. We supply the method statement, the insurance certificate and a programme your facilities manager can hold us to.

On survey

Murals and decorative finishes

Hand-painted murals, limewash, polished plaster, stencilled borders and colour-washed ceilings. This is the work the firm is known for and the reason people send us photographs of rooms they saw abroad.

From GHS 4,800

Colour consultation

An hour on site with the collection and a set of sample boards, painted in the actual light of the actual room and left up for a week. Free on any job over four rooms.

GHS 450

Surface repair and preparation

Cracked plaster, blown render, damp staining, nail pops and the sixteen years of filler somebody else left behind. Quoted separately so you can see exactly what the wall is costing you.

How a job runs

Four stages, and you know which one you are in

Every job on this firm follows the same programme, whether it is one bedroom or four floors on Independence Avenue.

01

The survey

Somebody comes out, measures, and looks at what is behind the paint as well as on it. Damp, movement, previous coatings — the things that decide whether a job lasts five years or eighteen months.

02

The colour

Sample boards painted in the room's own light and left on the wall for a week. Nobody picks a colour off a 30mm chip in a shop and nobody should be asked to.

03

The preparation

Protection down, furniture out or sheeted, then filling, sanding, stabilising and sealing. This is usually more than half the days on the programme and it is the half nobody photographs.

04

The handover

Two coats, a snagging walk with you rather than for you, everything put back, and the leftover paint labelled with the room it belongs to. Then the guarantee, in writing.

We offer different painting services for your home

Three crews, one standard of preparation. Whichever of them turns up at your gate, the walls get filled, sanded and sealed before a drop of colour goes on.

Our answers to your questions

Look at our FAQ page

What does a residential job actually include?

Moving and sheeting the furniture, filling and sanding, sealing bare plaster, two full coats, and putting the room back the way we found it. Skirtings, architraves and ceilings are in the price unless the quote says otherwise — we would rather write a bigger number than argue about a smaller one later.

Can you work around a business that has to stay open?

Most of our commercial work happens between six in the evening and six in the morning, in sections, with everything sheeted and cleared before the doors open. We have done four floors of an office on Independence Avenue without a single working day lost.

Are the paints low-odour and safe around children?

Every interior colour in our own collection is water-based, low-VOC and effectively odourless within a couple of hours. Nurseries and clinics get the anti-mould emulsion as standard, at no extra cost.

What happens if something goes wrong afterwards?

Interior work is guaranteed for five years and exterior for three, in writing, against flaking, blistering and colour failure. If it lifts, we come back and redo that elevation — no argument about whose fault the wall is.
