Our history

Fourteen years, one contract at a time

How a firm that started with a borrowed ladder ended up mixing its own paint — and what each of those decisions was actually about.

2011

Three bedrooms in Dansoman

Kojo Mensah takes the first contract of his own, quoted on the back of a cement bag, and buys a second ladder out of the profit. The firm is one man and an apprentice for the whole of that year.

2014

The first commercial programme

Four floors of an office off Independence Avenue, worked entirely between six in the evening and six in the morning without losing the tenant a working day. Everything the firm does commercially still follows that method statement.

2017

The workshop at East Legon

A yard, a spray booth and somewhere to store paint properly instead of in the back of a van. Joinery starts being sprayed off site and hung finished, which takes four days off a typical house.

2019

The collection is mixed

Eighteen months of trials on test panels left out through two rainy seasons, and eight colours survive it. Every one of them is water-based and low-VOC, which at the time almost nothing sold in Accra was.

2022

The guarantee goes in writing

Five years on interiors, three on exteriors, printed on the back of every quote. It cost the firm two remedial jobs in the first year and roughly doubled the proportion of work that comes from a past client.

2025

Four crews and twenty-six people

Interior, exterior, commercial and decorative, each with a lead who has been here at least six years. Nine of the twenty-six came through the firm's own apprenticeship.

What we are for

Nine of twenty-six came through our own apprenticeship

There is no shortage of people in Accra who can hold a brush and a serious shortage of people who have been taught what a wall needs before the brush touches it. The firm takes two apprentices a year, pays them from the first week, and puts them through the National Vocational Training Institute assessment at our cost. It is the only reason we can promise the same crew from survey to handover — we grew most of them.

Our mission

The paint you choose changes how a room feels, how it wears, and how long it is before somebody has to do it again.

Best, Quality, Better

Best colours — the ambience of a room.

Best paint — coverage that lasts a decade, not a season.

Best budget — one figure, agreed before we start.

Best crew — the same four faces from first coat to handover.
