Our history
Nineteen years, three addresses and one rule that has survived all of them.
2006
One chair on the Spintex Road
Charles Hammond came back from four years in Leeds and rented a single room with one chair in it. Two afternoons a week to start with, because the rest of the week he was still employed elsewhere.
2011
The move to East Legon
Three surgeries, a proper sterilisation room and the first hygienist. The waiting list at the old place had reached five weeks, which is a good problem and still a problem.
2015
Our own laboratory
A technician, a furnace and a milling unit in the room behind reception. Crowns stopped taking three weeks and started taking three days, and the shades started matching.
2018
The Adenta school programme
A screening round at four schools in Adenta, once a term, at our cost. Nine hundred children a year now, and the reason two of our clinicians chose to work here.
2021
Digital scanning
Intra-oral scanners replaced impression trays. Nobody misses the trays. Aligner planning and implant guides came with them, so treatment that used to be referred out stayed in the building.
2025
Six clinicians, seven thousand patients
Six people, six surgeries, and a recall list that has outgrown two receptionists. Still the same rule: nothing starts until somebody has explained it and quoted for it.

What has not changed
The rule the practice started with
In 2006 there was one chair, one dentist and one rule: nobody is treated before they have been told what is wrong, what it will cost and what happens if they do nothing. Six clinicians later that is still the only thing everyone here is asked to sign up to.
