Questions
Everything you need to know
The twenty things the phone gets asked most, in the order it gets asked them — including the one about parking.
Before you come
Everything you need to know
If the answer is not here, the phone is answered by somebody in the building between eleven and eleven.
Booking
Do I need to book?
For four or more on a Friday or Saturday, yes. The bar and the six front tables are kept back for walk-ins every night of the week.
How far ahead can I book?
Three months for a table, a year for the back room or the whole house. Christmas Eve goes in January.
How long do you hold a table?
Fifteen minutes. One call buys you as long as you need — we would much rather hold it than lose you.
Can I book for a large group?
Nine and over runs off a short set menu so everything lands together and hot. Call the house and we will build it with you.
Money
Do you add service?
Five per cent, on tables of eight and over only, split across the whole room including the kitchen. Never added to a smaller table.
Do you take cards and mobile money?
Cards, MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and cash. We can split a bill up to six ways without complaining about it.
Is the 30% weekday offer a smaller menu?
No. Same board, same portions, Tuesday to Thursday between 11:30am and 6pm.
Food
Can you cook for allergies?
Usually, and we would rather you told us twice than once. The grill and the wood oven are both shared, so cross-contact is possible and we will say so plainly.
Is there anything for vegetarians?
Four plates and three sides, and the margherita comes off the same oven as everything else. Vegan is possible with a day's notice.
Do you do children's portions?
Half portions of almost everything, at half price, and high chairs. Under-twelves are half price on every set menu.
How spicy is spicy?
Ghanaian spicy. If you want it dialled down, ask — nobody will be offended, and the kitchen would rather you enjoyed it.
Getting here
Where exactly are you?
27 Ring Road East, Osu — the red shopfront between the pharmacy and the fabric shop, opposite the taxi rank.
Is there parking?
Nine spaces behind the building off the side lane, and street parking after seven. Saturdays are tight; a car is easier.
Are you accessible?
Step-free from the side lane into the main room and the yard. The back room is up two steps, and we can help.
Still stuck
Ask a person instead
Three ways to reach somebody who is actually in the building.
Fastest
Call the house
+233 30 276 4412, between 11am and 11pm. Somebody in the room picks it up — it is not a call centre.
Same day
Write to us
hello@hearth.com. Answered the same day, and by the person who can actually change your booking.
In person
Come in
Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30am. Ask at the pass — somebody will stop what they are doing.
The small print
Privacy, terms and the rest
Short, because there is not much of it.
What we keep
Your name, phone number and any allergy you have told us about, so that the next booking is easier. Nothing else, and nothing is sold or shared.
Privacy
How long we keep it
Two years from your last visit, then it goes. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will do it that day.
2 years
Photographs in the room
We photograph the food, not the tables. If a camera comes out for an event we will tell you before it does.
Images
Cancelling a private booking
Free up to seventy-two hours before. Inside that we ask for the deposit, because the kitchen has already bought your dinner.
