The things
Grouped by what they are about, answered without marketing, and none of them hidden behind a click.
Booking & waiting
Do I need a referral?
No, for anything. You can ring and ask for a consultant directly. If your scheme requires a referral for reimbursement we will tell you when you book rather than after you have paid.
Can I book online?
No, and there are no plans to. A person on the desk can see that you are anxious and move something; a form cannot. Ring, WhatsApp, or walk in.
How long will I wait for a slot?
Same day for family medicine and dental emergencies, four to six days for routine dental, six to nine for cardiology, and nine to fourteen for neurology. The list is on the appointment page and updated every Monday.
What if I am running late?
Ring us. We hold a slot fifteen minutes as standard and longer if we know you are coming. Turning up an hour late without calling usually means being fitted in at the end of the clinic.
How do I cancel?
Ring or WhatsApp any time up to two hours before, free. There is no cancellation fee at all — but telling us means somebody else gets the slot, which is the only reason we ask.
Can I always see the same doctor?
Yes, and for anything chronic you should. Say the name when you book. It may add a few days for a consultant; for family medicine it rarely adds anything.
Money & cover
What does a consultation cost?
₵180 with a family physician and ₵320 with a consultant, VAT included. A review for the same problem inside six weeks is ₵90. The whole fees sheet is published on the fees page.
Do you take NHIS?
Yes, and we bill it directly. It covers consultation, most laboratory work, plain x-ray, ultrasound and the essential medicines list. It does not cover echocardiography, physiotherapy, or dental work other than extraction.
Which private schemes do you bill?
Nationwide Medical, Acacia Health, GLICO Healthcare, Apex Health, Premier Health, Cosmopolitan Health and Metropolitan Health. Show the card at the desk and we do the paperwork.
How can I pay?
Cash, card or mobile money at the desk. Every price includes VAT, NHIL and GETFund, so what is quoted is what is charged.
What if I cannot afford the treatment?
Say so to the billing desk rather than going away. A large bill can be spread over three months at no interest, and there is a hardship fund the clinical director signs off. Neither is advertised at the counter; both exist.
Care & results
When will I get my results?
Most laboratory work is back inside three hours and goes to your doctor and your phone at the same time. Imaging is reported by a consultant radiologist the same working day. Cultures take two to three days.
Can I get a copy of my records?
Yes. Anything from the last twelve months the front desk can print while you wait; older files need a written request and take about three working days. There is no charge either way.
Do you see children?
Every weekday morning, under fives, no appointment. There is a separate waiting room with a door on it, and the full Ghana Health Service immunisation schedule is kept here at cost.
What counts as an emergency?
Chest pain, difficulty breathing, a bad fall, heavy bleeding, a child who will not wake properly. Ring +233 30 274 1911 — do not drive here and wonder. There is a doctor in the building every hour of every day.
Can you admit me overnight?
Not yet. We can observe you for a few hours and we can admit you to one of three hospitals we work with, with your file going ahead of you. Six observation beds are the next thing the clinic is saving for.
Ask us anything
The front desk is a person from seven in the morning, and WhatsApp is usually faster after six in the evening.
