Since 2011

Vellum began with one wedding for a friend who had run out of both money and patience, and it is still the same idea fourteen years later — twelve weddings a year, one planner on each, and a price agreed in writing before a single supplier is telephoned.

What we do

Four ways in, and the fee for each

Most couples take the first. The fourth exists because people who plan their own wedding beautifully still should not be answering the caterer's telephone during the reception.

01 — Planning

From the date to the last van

We take the whole thing: the budget, the suppliers, the running order, the seating nobody wants to be responsible for, and the twenty conversations a week that go with them. One planner, named, from the first meeting to the Sunday morning.

From GH₵38,000 · twelve to eighteen months

02 — Styling

Flowers, tables, paper and light

The look of the day, drawn before it is bought — a real scheme with real prices against it, then sourced, built and taken down again. We will not put a board in front of you that we cannot cost.

From GH₵24,000 · six months

03 — Production

Tents, power, sound and the rain plan

The unromantic half. Marquees, generators, sound, lighting, water, parking and the wet-weather version of the whole day — written down in advance rather than improvised at four o'clock.

From GH₵19,000 · quoted per site

04 — On the day

Coordination only

For couples who have planned it themselves and want somebody to run it. We come in eight weeks out, take the suppliers off you, and hold the schedule so that nobody in your family is working on the day.

From GH₵9,500 · eight weeks

Real weddings

Six days we ran this year

Every one of them had a budget, a rain plan and an aunt who changed her mind on the Thursday. These are the ones the couples have let us show you.

The couples we work with

In their own words

A woman in an ivory brocade top and headwrap photographed under a warm light

They ran the engagement and the white wedding eight days apart and I never once had to telephone anybody. On the Saturday I was a guest at my own wedding.

A young man in a plain dark tunic against an ochre backdrop

We came with a spreadsheet and a budget we were embarrassed about. They told us honestly what it would and would not buy, and then stayed inside it.

Kojo Amankwah

Married at Labone, 2024

A woman in a deep red robe with an embroidered shawl over one shoulder

The rain came at four. By half past the whole dinner had moved indoors and most of our guests still do not know it was not the plan.
