Work with us

Four people, and a season

The studio is deliberately small, so a full-time post comes up about once every three years. The freelance season comes up every September.

What the job is

It is not flowers. It is holding somebody's budget honestly for a year, telling them the thing they do not want to hear in February rather than in November, and then standing in a field at six in the morning making sure the generator has fuel — and being the only person at the wedding who is working.

Three ways to join

Write to the studio with what you have run and one thing that went wrong on it. The second half of that sentence is the part we read.

Assistant planner · Full time

One post, starting January

Two years of events behind you, or one year and an unreasonable amount of organisation. You will run your own weddings inside eighteen months. The work is spreadsheets, telephone calls and standing in fields in the rain deciding where a marquee goes — anyone who tells you it is mostly flowers has not done it.

GH₵4,200 — GH₵5,600 a month · Tuesday to Saturday in season

Freelance · By the day

Coordinators for the season

We take on six to eight freelance coordinators between September and December. You need to have run a wedding day before, own a decent pair of shoes and be calm when a supplier is ninety minutes late.

GH₵900 a day · twelve to fourteen hours

Freelance · By the day

Floral hands, build days only

Conditioning, wiring and installing on the Thursday and Friday before a wedding. Training given; a driving licence is worth more than experience.

GH₵550 a day · Thursdays and Fridays in season
