The couples

Whose days these were

Fourteen years of couples, most of whom arrived because somebody at a wedding asked who had run it and got a straight answer.

The couples we work with

In their own words

A woman in an ivory brocade top and headwrap photographed under a warm light

They ran the engagement and the white wedding eight days apart and I never once had to telephone anybody. On the Saturday I was a guest at my own wedding.

Afia Boateng

Married at Aburi, 2025

A young man in a plain dark tunic against an ochre backdrop

We came with a spreadsheet and a budget we were embarrassed about. They told us honestly what it would and would not buy, and then stayed inside it.

Kojo Amankwah

Married at Labone, 2024

A woman in a deep red robe with an embroidered shawl over one shoulder

The rain came at four. By half past the whole dinner had moved indoors and most of our guests still do not know it was not the plan.

What we are asked for

Five kinds of year

Most of the calendar

Traditional and white, a week apart

Two days, one guest list and one budget. The engagement at a family house on the Saturday, the white wedding the following weekend, and the same team on both.

A third of the year

One day, done properly

Couples who have decided on a single celebration and want every cedi of it in one room. Usually eighty to a hundred and fifty guests.

Four or five a year

Couples marrying from abroad

London, Toronto, Maryland. You are on a video call once a fortnight and on a plane twice; we do the site visits, the tastings and the arguing.

Regularly

Outside Greater Accra

Cape Coast, Ada, Kumasi and the Volta. Different suppliers, longer build days, and a production plan that assumes nothing about the power.

When the diary allows

Anniversaries, birthdays and launches

The smaller work that keeps the studio busy between seasons. Styling and production usually; a planner only when there is genuinely a year of work in it.

Why they come to us

Almost nobody arrives from an advertisement. They arrive because somebody at a wedding was asked who had run it and gave a straight answer — which is the only marketing a studio taking twelve weddings a year has ever needed.
