Before you do

What happens after you write

Two people read all of this, and they also work the counter. Here is what that means for how quickly you hear back.

One working day

Every message and every email is answered within one working day, and most of them before lunch on the day they arrive. Nothing here goes into a queue with a ticket number on it.

Saturday is the slowest

Saturday is the busiest day in the shop and on the WhatsApp, so it is the day an answer takes longest to come back. Monday morning is the quietest hour of the week.

Send the order number

If it is about something you have already bought, send the order number and a photograph in the first message. It saves a day of asking.

Saturdays, by appointment

Visiting the workshop

The room above the shop takes visitors on Saturday afternoons, two or three people at a time. Send a date and we will tell you what is on the bench that week — it is worth coming on a day something is being cut.
