From the workshop
Journal
Notes from the workshop above the shop: how to read a hide, what wool weighs, and what happens in the eleven hours it takes to make a tote.
About the journal
Why any of it is written down
A coat at GHS 3,200 is a decision, and most of what makes it worth the money happens before it reaches the rail: which hide was chosen, what the wool weighs, how many hours went into a tote. The people who cut and sew them write that down as they go, so you can weigh it against anything else you are looking at.

The pieces the writing is about
Everything the journal describes is cut and sewn in the room above the shop, and the same pieces are on the shelf downstairs.
